1970
Hugh (Jack) Frost launches Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd, the first suspended ceiling and drywall partition contractor in Cape Town.
1990
Hufcor Acoustic Operable walls is a product that Jack Frost (now trading as Frost International) brings to the South African market. Ifuba Products, a manufacturer based in KZN, obtains the manufacturing license and Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd becomes an official distributor.
1992
Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd partners with Royal Boon Edam to supply large diameter automatic revolving doors & high end security products in the South African market.
1996
Mike Frost starts up Frost International, in Gauteng. An agreement between Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd and Frost International allows Frost International to market, supply and install the Royal Boon Edam range of products in the region.
1998/1999
Jack Frost Cape Town Pty Ltd and Frost International join forces and start trading as Frost International. In 1999 a decision is taken to stop the ceiling and partition department and concentrate more on Frost International’s new interests. As a service orientated company in the sub-contracting market, we attract solid business from client’s requiring this type of top level service and as such “Specialist Contractor” is added to the company logo.
2001
In 2001 Frost International embarks on a huge R&D programme, which has resulted in the Frost Automatic sliding door operator, the only automatic sliding door operator developed and manufactured in South Africa.
2009
The Frost International R&D team completes the Frost Telescopic automatic sliding door operator, reducing the huge import costs usually associated with the imported versions.
2010
With the ever persistent security concerns on the African continent Frost International again looks abroad to find solutions to fill this void and becomes the distributor of Alluser Industrie on the African continent, the manufacturers of high security motorised automatic portal.
2011
Dedicated BRT Systems Engineering department is established to service the various Bus Rapid Transport project around the country. The Frost Automatic along with the Frost Station Interface system and remote monitoring is used for the City of Cape Town BRT project.
