Frost International Timeline

Hugh (Jack) Frost launches Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd, the first suspended ceiling and drywall partition contractor in Cape Town.

Hufcor Acoustic Operable walls is a product that Jack Frost (now trading as Frost International) brings to the South African market. Ifuba Products, a manufacturer based in KZN, obtains the manufacturing license and Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd becomes an official distributor.

Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd partners with Royal Boon Edam to supply large diameter automatic revolving doors & high end security products in the South African market.

Mike Frost starts up Frost International, in Gauteng. An agreement between Jack Frost Cape Town (Pty) Ltd  and Frost International allows Frost International to market, supply and install the Royal Boon Edam range of products in the region.

Jack Frost Cape Town Pty Ltd and Frost International join forces and start trading as Frost International. In 1999 a decision is taken to stop the ceiling and partition department and concentrate more on Frost International’s new interests. As a service orientated company in the sub-contracting market, we attract solid business from client’s requiring this type of top level service and as such  “Specialist Contractor” is added to the company logo.

In 2001 Frost International embarks on a huge R&D programme, which has resulted in the Frost Automatic sliding door operator,  the only automatic sliding door operator developed and manufactured in South Africa.

The Frost International R&D team completes the Frost Telescopic automatic sliding door operator, reducing the huge  import costs usually associated with the imported versions.

With the ever persistent security concerns on the African continent Frost International again looks abroad to find solutions to fill this void and becomes the distributor of  Alluser Industrie on the African continent, the manufacturers of  high security motorised automatic portal.

Dedicated BRT Systems Engineering department is established to service the various Bus Rapid Transport project around the country.  The Frost Automatic along with the Frost Station Interface system and remote monitoring is used for the City of Cape Town BRT project.
